Rod de Vletter
Rod de Vletter, a Swaziland citizen, is a tourism and environment
specialist working for the World Bank since 1993. He is the owner
of two nature reserves and an ecotourism lodge in Swaziland,
and the founder of Swaziland’s environmental NGO, Yonge
Nawe. He is one of the originators of the Transfrontier Conservation
Areas (TFCA) Initiative and has been working on Coastal Zone
Management, Biodiversity and Tourism Corridors, and Tourism and
Conservation policy and program development. His working experience
covers Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Malawi and Uganda.
Recently, Mr. de Vletter has been working with the International
Finance Corporation to design the South East Africa Tourism Investment
Program (SEATIP) and with the Government of Mozambique to design
its Sustainable Tourism and Conservation Program.
